“There’s something about the outside of a horse, that’s good for the inside of a man.”

-Winston Churchill

We know you have lots of choices when it comes to choosing a barn for riding lessons. That’s why it’s our mission to offer a one of a kind horse experience you’ll never forget! From our well-schooled lesson horses, to our friendly, and personable atmosphere-we want you to choose Willow Creek Farm!

Why choose Willow Creek?

Willow Creek Farm is unique. We are home to a combination of show & hobby riders! We’re proud to be able to offer a competitive track for riders with competitive goals, as well as a relaxed and fun atmosphere for all riders to enjoy!

We’re also home to riders of different disciplines. Most barns offer either English or Western lessons, we’re pleased to offer both! We encourage riders to try different styles and find the discipline that suites them!

What is our program like?

We believe that good horsemanship, and the fundamentals of great riding are essential, and universal across disciplines.

We equip our riders with the tools and confidence to approach and overcome the challenges that accompany riding different horses and disciplines. We also work to help our riders develop a deep understanding of the horse. What is the horse telling me? How do I get the desired response I’m looking for? How can I be the rider that the horse needs?

We know there are many places to take riding lessons at. That’s why here at Willow Creek Farm we are committed to offering our riders one of a kind, unforgettable horse experience. Our customers are riders who want a relationship with their instructor, barn and lesson horses!

The Lesson Experience

Looking to get hands on experience and become a true horseman? We LOVE working with customers looking to get the most out of their horse experience. Our lessons include and begin with a detailed explanation of the grooming and saddling process. With emphasis on the why, and how to perform these tasks correctly, so that we preserve the integrity of our equine partners.

Our lessons also take riders through safety checks of tack, what to do in case of different emergencies, and many other ‘day in the life’ riding situations. Riding is included in the lesson, new riders are started on a lead, and consistently work towards independence.

We recognize that all riders are different, some very bold, while others are timid. Our instructors work with their riders to build rapport and confidence in the saddle, only moving on when mastery of concepts is demonstrated.

Tailored Instruction from Beginners to Advanced

Our instructors have extensive horse experience and are committed to helping you accomplish your equine related goals. Tailoring each lesson experience to match rider needs is something we do best! Breaking down instruction for beginner riders, and providing rich vocabulary is all part of what makes our riders become independent and successful! If you have previous horse experience our instructors will work to see what skills you already have, and build upon those to help further your riding goals!
